Waiting Times
What to expect when your concrete arrives and how waiting time is calculated.
To keep our delivery schedule running smoothly and prices fair for all customers, we operate a clear waiting time policy. Please read the following carefully before your delivery date.
Included Offloading Time
Each delivery includes 20 minutes of free offloading time, starting from the moment the driver begins discharging concrete. This is ample time for most standard pours when the site is properly prepared.
Waiting Time Charges
If offloading takes longer than 20 minutes, waiting time will be charged at:
This charge applies to the total time beyond the included 20 minutes. For example, if offloading takes 35 minutes, you will be charged for 15 minutes of waiting time (£30 + VAT).
Waiting time charges will be added to your final invoice or captured from the pre-authorised payment on your card.
How to Avoid Waiting Time Charges
The vast majority of our customers offload well within the included time. Here's how to make sure your pour goes smoothly:
Prepare the Site
Have your formwork, shuttering, and any membrane fully in place before the truck arrives.
Have Enough Labour
Ensure you have sufficient people on site to move and level the concrete. For larger pours, you may need 3-4 people.
Clear Access
Make sure our truck can get as close to the pour site as possible. Move any vehicles, skips, or obstacles.
Wheelbarrow Runs
Keep barrow runs short, level, and clear. Lay boards over soft ground. Long runs are the most common cause of charges.
Consider a Pump
For hard-to-reach areas or large volumes, a pump can dramatically speed up offloading. From £380 + VAT.
Be Ready on Time
Our driver will call approximately 30 minutes before arrival. Make sure your team is on site and ready to go.
Multiple Loads
If your order requires more than one load, the 20-minute included time applies to each load individually. We aim to space multiple deliveries so the next load arrives as you're finishing the previous one.
Returned Concrete
If you order more concrete than you need, any unused concrete returned in the truck will still be charged at the full rate. We strongly recommend using our concrete calculator to estimate your volume accurately.
Failed Deliveries
If we arrive at your site and are unable to deliver due to:
- Inadequate site access or unsafe ground conditions
- No one on site to receive the delivery
- Site not prepared or ready for concrete
A failed delivery charge may apply. Please contact us as early as possible if you need to reschedule — cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance incur no charge.
